Who
EDGE LAW is a criminal law practice dedicated to achieving the best results for their clients.
Lawyers Melanie Hrvatin and Chris Pouras run the practice with the ethos of using their knowledge of the law to provide a voice to all clients, ensuring all cases are heard and defended with vigour.
MELANIE HRVATIN
Melanie studied law at Adelaide University graduating in 2004. She completed her practical legal training through the College of Law and was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2006. Melanie is also admitted in the Supreme Court of South Australia, Victoria and the High Court of Australia.
Melanie has worked in South Australia, Victoria and the Northern Territory. She practiced in the areas of Migration, Civil and Commercial litigation, Insolvency and Debt Recovery, Probate and Estate law before following her passion to work in Crime.
Melanie is an experienced trial solicitor and the Director of the practice. She has an avid attention to detail and prides herself on building and maintaining positive client relations and achieving the best possible outcome - without exception.
chRIS POURAS
Following an extensive career in the financial services industry in the areas of investment banking and stockbroking, including a period of small business ownership, Chris returned to university in 2017 to fulfil a longstanding aspiration of entering the legal profession. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide in 2020 and completed the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in June 2021.
Chris was admitted as a solicitor and barrister of the Supreme Court of South Australia and as a Registered Practitioner of the High Court of Australia in July 2021.
Chris commenced his legal career initially working in the areas of family and wills and estates law, after which he joined Edge Law in January 2022 to pursue his ambition of working in criminal law.
Highly motivated and driven, Chris is a strong advocate for the rule of law and is dedicated to pursuing his client’s rights with vigour and determination in order to achieve the best possible outcome.
